WELCOME TO RENNSTAMS AT 251!
Dear friends and family, welcome to London! Here's a couple of good things to know if you borrow our flat.

GETTING THERE
Address: 251 Southwark Bridge Road, SE1 6FN London. Map.
Closest train station is London Bridge, with fast connections to Gatwick. From there it's a 20 min walk down Borough high street. Or, take the Underground two stops to Elephant & Castle. At Elephant & Castle station follow signs to the Bakerloo line and then the Southbank University Exit.
We are on 27thfloor (there's a lift ;). Speak to the Concierge on arrival for keys (you will need ID) and to let you up in the lift. There is a white key card for the lift once you’re in the flat. The card automatically takes you to the right floor.
THE FLAT & BUILDING
We have sheets and towels for you, but great if you wash the bedlinen in the laundry bag on top of the washing machine when you arrive, then put your own in when you leave which next guest will wash.
Clever ey?
There is a hairdryer (and heated rollers if that is your thing!). We have shampoo and conditioner. High Street brand, not posh.
Recycling is to your right as you come out of the lift, you need the key card to enter. The recycling bins are for paper and cans, the household waste ones are for everything else.
THE SURROUNDINGS
We strongly suggest a visit to the street food market Mercato Metropolitano. Just around the corner you will find +40 stands with food and drinks from countries all around the world. Closest pub is The Ship, with live music Thu-Sun.
Further up Borough high street, you’ll arrive at popular Borough Market and the Shard with it’s restaurants and bars above the 35th floor (if you feel 27 was too low). Borough Market restaurant recommendations HERE.
Carry on through Borough market and you’ll hit the Thames, turn left and walk along the river all the way to Tate Modern, London eye, Big Ben, London aquarium etc. Turn right and you’ll get to Tower bridge and the restaurants over by Shad Thames.
TIMINGS
* 251 to Tate Modern: 15 min walk or 5 min Uber.
* 251 to Piccadilly circus: 40 min walk, 10 min Tube, 15min Uber.
* 251 to Camden market: 20 min Tube or Uber.
MISCELLANEOUS
Internet
The wifi Password is Gintonic1 We have unlimited wifi so use it to your heart’s content.
Heating
There are 2 thermostats. One by the front door and one in the bedroom. Set them to the temperatures you want by pressing the +/- buttons. Press the tick to set.
Bathroom underfloor heating and heated towel rail controls are outside the bathroom door.
When you leave make sure you re-set the thermostats to 10 degrees and turn off the towel rail and underfloor heating.
If you are visiting in the summer and need to use the air conditioning please make sure the pipe is going out of the sliding doors.
Shower
Please leave the handheld showerhead in its hold when showering so water doesn't get in there, but please leave it hanging in the bathtub when you leave as there have been serious issues with them leaking in the buidling.
Rubbish
Rubbish bins are in the 2nd drawer under the sink, there are bin bags in this drawer as well. Use one bin for recycling (paper, card, glass, tins etc), one for food waste, and one for all other things. The refuse room is down on the ground floor. Please don’t leave rubbish in the flat. We don’t know when someone will next be staying.
Glasses
Please don't put crystal glasses (whisky, wine) in the dishwasher.
Leaving – quick glance checklist
We hope you had a fabulous time in London!
We would be really grateful if you could check you have done the following things before you leave:
- Stripped the bed and put your sheets and dry towels in the linen bag on top of the washing machine (do not start machine). If your towels aren't dry, hang them on the clothes horse next to washing machine.
- Made the bed with clean sheets etc.
- Turned off the underfloor heating in bathroom and bathroom towel rail (controls outside bathroom door).
- Re-set 2 x thermostats to 10 degrees.
- Handheld shower head left in the bathtub.
- Check balcony doors are closed and locked.
- Removed any food or drink that could go off.
- Checked dishwasher is empty.
- Hoovered and left the flat tidy.
- Double locked the front door.
- Dropped the key back with the Concierge!
